I am just super curious what everyone else thinks here.
I personally am not at all into per-episode reviews of current shows. ESPECIALLY if they suck. Now I am not trying to poop on anyone’s content at all. I am just saying for me, personally speaking, I don’t get why you would per episode review something you hate. Again, not even really a fan of that episodic review even if I like it unless it’s something really good from the past like TNG, B5 or DS9 or something.
What do you guys think? Do you enjoy those? I am just curious.
Per-episode reviews, why not.
If the episode is great, then you want others to know about it too.
If the episode SUCKS, then you want others to know about it too.
I recall when ST: TNG first came out, and me and my friends would be talking about it for several days, until the next episode came the following week.
While most episodes we liked, there was the odd one we disliked.
The fact most shows today have crap episodes (I am talking about you Rings of shit and they/it-hulk), we at least have The Orville were we get more great episodes than not.
And for those of us who don’t have access to these shows, if it nice to get honest reviews of them. So that when a show is available on DVD, if I see alot of positive reviews, I will purchase it (like I have with the first two seasons of The Orville).
And for those reviews of episodes that are shite, I have found the reviews to be more entertaining than the actual episodes they are reviewing.
It’s fodder for comedy. I like to see the media flamed and Hollywood mocked. They did it to us our entire lives. I am too soft. I’ll still watch a show from time to time, but it’s rare and not very much. I like guys like Roas and Nerdrotic who have no mercy on these fools. I want to see the media and Hollywood mocked until they cry. Then, after that, kick them again.
Good points all around. I guess I can see why these appear to be popular shows. Well, shows of shows :P
Still it is just not my bag, but hey, that’s cool. To each his own.
Imo they do it for more views/content = money. But ya, I’d prefer a season breakdown. If they are going to do it, then don’t do it like Nerdrotic. Nerdrotic’s HOTD Episode 6 review was 3 and a half hours, longer than the damn episode, a bit ridiculous. lol SW Theory does 10 min, which is about right. I also think the live watch streams of episodes are stupid. Why would I want to set and watch someone set there watching a show? I’ll watch it myself…alone! Ahh, just more proof I am not a people person….
