The PS5 looks fine, although I’d prefer the Series X’s design. But man, did Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart sell me on the PS5!
I didn’t think you would be able to lay it on the side either cause of the way that the stand was, but they had released another image showing that you could, so that good news.
Looks like a fucking WiFi Hub
Well, most games I will never buy or buy with a heavy discount and never play… :D Ok, maybe Morales or Horizon 2, but I am not really that excited. I think we are getting Miles a bit too soon and first Horizon had some issues with a story, not too critical, but still. If they showed Persona 6, well now we would be talking.
To be honest nothing seemed too different from PS4. I mean if there was a ps4 logo instead of ps5 I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference, maybe that’s just me.
Ps5 itself seems fine, but need that price though. Its going to be a couple of years before decent games will come out anyway, so I can wait.
Does this thing only have one or two USB ports? That’s going to be a problem for me. I only have two USB ports on my PS4 Slim and it’s a pain. When I’m using PSVR I have to use one for that and the other one I use for my external HD… So charging controllers is a pain.. PS5 should have four USB ports in my opinion..
I found it interesting that Sony is releasing a PS5 DE… I think this is Sony acknowledging that the age of physical media is just about over.. If PS6 does have a BD drive, it will be ONLY for backwards compatibility. If I do get a PS5, it’s digital all the way….
Looks great to me. Been in the market for a new 4k Player for a while.
It also plays Video games?

I agree it was a very weak presentation. I’m not happy at all about haptic feedback. I always have to turn them off, since they aggravate some neurological issues i have. I really, really hope I can turn them off. I was very disappointed the presentation was very flashy without much real substance. I wanted more information about the PS5 (price, release date, can I turn off haptics?).
The only game I’m at all excited about is Horizon 2 Forbidden West. My excitement is tempered by not knowing if I’ll even be able to use a PS5.
Yeah, at least some of the showcased games will be released on BOTH PS4 and PS5 (Kena: Bridge of Spirits, for example); but unfortunately Horizon 2 will be exclusive to PS5, by all accounts I’ve seen so far.
PlayStation Universe is reporting that Ghostwire:Tokyo will also be released on PS4. So it seems right now that I won’t need to buy a PS5 anytime soon, since both the games I am interested in from the PS5 lineup, Ghostwire:Tokyo and Kena: Bridge of Spirits, are also releasing on PS4 (based on current info).
I strongly dislike the PS5 appearance (and I don’t like haptic feedback either for that matter). I prefer “KISS” with simple-clean curves. Of all the consoles released to date by Microsoft and PlayStation, I like the aesthetics of the Xbox360 best (never mind the RROD issues…).
I found it interesting that literally all new IPs revealed (not counting sequels) had a female protagonist. Apart from the ones with creatures/animals as protagonists.
I get it that they feel like women are underrepresented in games, but when all devs are part of this groupthink, it starts to smell like agenda-driven identity politics. Still, I’m perfectly fine with new female chararcters instead of genderbent classic ones, but this feels like an overcorrection towards equality in outcome. And you can miss me with that nonsense.
love my ps5
What i do think of the ps5 is that i will play both systeam if got the money read its going to be $500 in USA and Australia $999
Well, as a female gamer, I don’t think devs are doing this for the benefit of female gamers. I generally have more difficulty connecting with female protagonists than male ones because of the personality. Also, there seems to be a trend in designing less attractive female characters in video games. Frankly, I have more fun playing as attractive characters. It’s a video game — a fantasy.
On that note, I think the last female protagonist I liked was Lara Croft from Tomb Raider (2013). I didn’t like playing as Aloy from HZD at all, and I preferred playing Joel rather than Ellie in TLoU. Given a choice, skill set determines my decision, not gender. I choose Mordecai (male) in BL1 and Zero (male) in BL2, although in both games there was a female option.
In games like ME, Prey, and Fallout 3 & 4, where personality and skillset would be the same regardless the gender, then I choose female.
Bottom line, I never felt slighted not having many female roles in games. Having more female protagonists doesn’t make any difference to me, other than the annoyance of having to play an otherwise great game as someone I dislike.
I can’t complain about the design of the PS5 I like the overall look and design of it. Plus its going to have a 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray was in the market in getting a 4K player, because I just got a 75″ 4K LG to replace an older TV and wanted to get a 4K player to get the most out of the visuals of the TV, but now I’ll just wait and get the PS5 2 for 1 deal new 4K player and new gaming console. Most likely won’t be rushing out to get one on launch day will wait to see the price reveal.
