I would like to trade Pokemon between Gen 1 and 2 (using Time Capsule in Gen 2).
I have 1 gameboy color and one gameboy advance. I tried using my Gameboy Color link cable to connect them (the link cable end fits in the GBA, but is not a “GBA” cable), and my Gen 1 game doesn’t recognize the connection. Any tips?
Must I have a Gameboy Color to Gameboy Color connection? OR is there a link cable that connects Gameboy color to GBA, and works for Gameboy color games?
Thanks.
Yesterday I tried to post various links about the cable link needed but I guess I did not submit It correctly, I’ll try without linking:
The trade option (time capsule should work) If you use a gba(gen2) and gbc(gen1) and the game boy link cable(not the advance one), If It isn’t working could be the cable is faulty.
I found this maybe It’ll help:
I understand it should work with the Gameboy Color link cable but not the GBA one, but I didn’t found anyone using GBA Gen2 with GBC Gen1 or vice versa.

The wikia states It should work, I have pokeRed and Crystal but since both batteries died I can’t test it anymore but I remember It should work between GBA/GBC.
Do you have any other games to check if the Game Link cable is not faulty?

Depending on the Pokemon, the likelihood varies from 1 in 128 to 1 in 64 for 8:1 male Pokemon (like starters). I love to collect cards and my favorite one is a volcanion EX card.
Red Gyrados must only know mimic since, in Generation I, the pokemon IVs are copied with the second use of Transform. The same applies to you—you’ll utilise mimic to morph into gyrados with mimic and do the same for the duplicate. He’ll use mimic, change as a result, and take your IVs forever. Shiny ditto, boom. Happy reproduction.
I’m looking for Pokémon Generation 1 and 2 swaps Various starters, uncommon Pokémon, and version-exclusives are available. To finish my Pokédex, I’m looking for specific evolutions and rare creatures. Let’s trade Friend Codes and do some nostalgic trading. You’ve got to catch ’em all.
