Has anyone read any good books recently the last one I read was Isaac Asimov’s The Mual!
I recently got the LOTR Books along with the Hobbit one. Having seen the movies, the books make me love these stories even more. I listen to an audiobook playlist while I’m reading it myself, so it’s even better.
Currently reading The Fourth Turning
In currently reading the Stephen Alten books that the film the Meg was based on. That movie sucked out loud but the books are a great read. There is a secondary storyline with a different main character that takes place at Loch Ness and the final book uses both characters in Antarctica.
Springtime for Snowflakes: “Social Justice” and Its Postmodern Parentage by former NYU Professor Michael Rectenwald. He discusses how the post modern deconstruction movement has gotten to the point, his indoctrination into it and why he was eventually “canceled”. If anyone wants to really understand where all of the SJW ideology came from this is an excellent starting point.
For fiction, Just finished the lightbringer series by Brent Weeks (made a post about it). Super interesting magic/world, male character that feel like men and females that feel like women. A bit like game of thrones but more optimistic in terms of story and how dark things get. Would definitely recommend.
For non-fiction, Human diversity but Charlies Murry. Its a great and easy to understand summary of all the actual science on the topics related to biology that are taboo theses days (aka sex differences, etc.). Great book.
Just finished the Belgariad by David Eddings, if you love the Lord of the Rings, I think you will really like this series. Road Marks by Roger Zelazny is another book I’m reading at the moment, fun read so far.
Currently rereading the Lord of the Rings (Revisiting it as an adult). Just finished the Hobbit. I’m also working on book one of the Expanse and liking it so far.
How does that compare to the Elenium sextet?
Honestly, I think the Belgariad was way better then the Elenium, just a personal opinion.
I’d been going through a bunch of Philip K. Dick lately. Clans of the Alphane Moon was great and A Maze of Death was pretty interesting too.
Dream Park by Larry Niven and Stephen Barns is a fun read, murder mystery set in a park where you game with holograms. Sort of Ready Player 1 and A Disney park combined.
I quite enjoyed reading the Bobiverse Series. There are three books thus far. Sci Fi with sarcastic humor.
Went back and reread a few things I’ve had for awhile. The Martian by Andy weir, dark matter by Blake Crouc (both sci fi). Also reread the dark tower series by Stephen King. Best, and probably only, western apolocalypse adventure medieval sci-fi action series I’ve ever read.
Moonraker by Ian Fleming. It’s much better than the movie and Fleming wrote it as if he wanted it to be adapted.
