    1) Always preferred Robotnik to Eggman….callling him Eggman always diminished the franchise for me.

    2) Knuckles needs to be an anti-hero. Total badass that hates to work with Sonic, should be able to give Sonic a beatdown, and give a short arc where they have to work together and come to an understanding.

    3) Sonic and Sally…there is no other way.

    4) Mecha Sonic….I need it.

How did Robotnik Become Eggman in the first place??

Like in the movie, Sonic calls Robotnik Eggman to diss him, is that how the name originally came about too?

Ok so I got some bad news you see I actually managed to set up a Zoom meeting with a Netflix exec who I met through the grape vine via my gf’s dad I scheduled the meeting with him and he was nothing but kind to me and I acted as professionally as I could I sent him the script to the pilot episode “The Princess and the Hedgehog” and he said it was actually a decent pilot HOWEVER that being said they wanted Princess Sally and the Knothole Freedom Fighters out of the show and they wanted to change a couple of changes and long story short he told me that if a show isn’t woke Netflix isn’t gonna make it so this show will NEVER see the light of day at least not how I originally envisioned the project

      That blows.

      Here’s my advice.

      1) Keep working on it. Woke won’t last forever. They think they are winning, but nothing has changed, and there will come a time when the woke garbage really isn’t making any money and companies will be desperate for content.

      2) Stick to your guns. Don’t change what you believe in your heart is right. The minute they make you change core aspects, that’s when it stops being the thing you love.

      3) As you keep working in it, shop it around to other platforms. Netflix isn’t the be all end all.

      4) Start another IP and build that up. Maybe you need a different IP to be successful first and get your foot in the door. Sonic is your baby. If you are successful with something else first, then that gives you leverage to do it the way you want to.

@Roas is right, Netflix isn’t the only way to get this project made, in the meantime start thinking of ways to pitch you’re idea to other studios, and who knows, maybe while you search, Netflix might change it’s mind

Trying to get your foot in the door with another IP’s also a good idea

I work (well, kinda, i’m just starting out) in entertainment, and getting your foot in the door’s probably the toughest thing to do, and once you do that it’s a matter of trying to push that really heavy door all the way open (i’d say i’ve just about got my toes in the door and am trying not to let the door shut on ’em 😅)

a little bit of background on myself I’ve actually been writing stories since I was in Middle School around 12-13ish my first story was called “Star Wars Tales of the Old Republic” which was a collection of short stories that all took place during the SWTOR era of Star Wars eventually I actually saved some cash to hire an artist on Deviantart to work make my stories into a webcomic years later I’m now 18 years old and a senior in High School and have many stories under my belt from School plays to LEGO stop motion short films but my most passionate projects are probably “Dragon Ball Rewritten” where I essentially rewrote the entire story of Dragon Ball Z and Super and an TV Series adaptation of Xenosaga and a 6 episode mini series based off of Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne and well Sonic Freedom when I was starting to get back into Sonic via the Sonic movie and Sonic Mania and one day I came across the same artist that worked on Tales of the Old Republic I told him about Sonic Freedom and how I got rejected so he is making my script into a webcomic he even made this really cool artwork for the comicddaewpm-65e43679-baab-4637-9424-794f2a379386

This is great! If the web-comic is a success it might get TV studios attention and they might be willing to give it a chance without making drastic changes 😸

What platform do you plan to publish it on? Can’t wait to read it 🦔

I was wondering something about how Sonic Freedom could become a web-comic before becoming a cartoon

Obviously, Sonic belongs to Sega, so to have the rights to make any official comic or web-comic it would have to be approved by them, without that, you’d only be able to make the web-comic as fan-fic

It’s a super cool idea and i really want to see it

You’re making the project, so you know the behined the scenes details, i’m just curious as to how you’re gonna make this happen

            #199193

It’s strictly just going to be a fan-fic at this point

Ok so long story short I talked with another executive at Netflix and he really liked the pitch and pilot episode of “Sonic Freedom” and after some lengthy talks and negotiations with SEGA Sonic Freedom has been green lit! Eo5HcmbVgAEkJJZ

HOWEVER the show is going to take awhile to produce with the release date being 2022 but still…I couldn’t be happier

@Digicat, @Roas here are some updates

1.The show will be 3D animated by Man of Action the same people behind Ben 10 and Generator Rex

              2. Netflix and I are trying to hire some of the writers of the Sonic comics to help write episodes

3.Takashi Lizuka the head director of the current Sonic games is one of our Creative Consultants on the show

If either of you have ideas for arcs/storylines or certain characters you would like to see in Sonic Freedom please let me know

              #201205

That’s some promising behind the scenes news. The original runs of Ben 10 were excellent and well animated. I like that you have people who worked on the comics, because I think those were always solid.

Only thing I would really love to see is an arc of Sonic .vs. Mecha Sonic. That rivalry has always been of interest to me, and I never really got enough of it in my own experiences with the franchise. One of my favorite things ever was the level in Sonic CD where you race Mecha Sonic. I have other thoughts, but they are basically concerning the past Sonic TV franchises. I’ve watched all just about all of them in the past, but at certain points stopped because they go progressively worse. That one on Fox Kids became a train wreck fast, and then the one where Sonic had two siblings and they played instruments was god awful.

Going forward, I offer my services as a sounding board, behind the scenes of course. Going forward now, gotta protect your new IP :).

Thank you @Roas here are my responses

              1. Sonic does NOT have siblings in Sonic Freedom. Sonic Underground takes place in a completely separate universe than the games or my show

              2. I’m not gonna say that Mecha Sonic is or isn’t in the show but…never say neverd5etd8c-5a6394f5-2112-4c0a-8381-89ca36504a4a
