>Ian Flynn confirmed as new writer.
Well, this explains his departure from IDW and why he’s been so secretive. Personally, I would’ve preferred Shiro Maekawa (lead writer for Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic & the Black Knight), but Ian has received high praise for his writing in the comics, so I believe he can do the characters in the main series justice.
>”[This game] will be defining the series for the next decade much like how Sonic Adventure and Sonic Colours did.” ~ Takashi Izuka (paraphrasing here, not a direct quote).
Yeah, good.
Sonic Colours worked for what it was – But the self-aware jokes and meta commentary in subsequent titles got old fast. After Sonic Forces frankly abmysmal storyline and how Pontac and Graff really dropped the ball on its potential (I mean, come on, Eggman takes over the planet and Sonic leads a rebellion against him? It seemed like the perfect opportunity to pay homage to all the 90’s era cartoons and comics and there was bloody nothing, never mind how the story had more holes than swiss cheese), it’s more than welcome to go back to Adventure-era style writing rather than the flanderizations we’ve had endure these past ten years.
Sonic movie 2 announced for next April and this game will likely hit for Spring/Summer, 2022 is looking to be a good year for Sonic, at least.
>Sonic Adventure style Open World environments.
WHAT
Holy fuck inject this into my veins RIGHT NOW.
If this is like a Sonic Adventure 3, then i’d like that. SA 1 and 2 were the best Sonics games imo.
those open-world pics are awesome… :o is that for real lol if so, I’m in :D
