Cowgirl David, you really have to start reading before you comment something ignorant. He has said several times they have made all the money they can out of their Trilogy, meaning no one is interested in it anymore. The Force Awakens made them a billion dollars. Does that equal a net positive for Disney Star Wars as a whole? No, but that’s not the point he’s making.
Haven’t taught you English in school yet?
Keep licking heir kennedys boots.
They lost money They will never break even on NET cost for their purchase.
That is literally what I just said. Shouldn’t expect much from a Californian I guess.
for some reason I can’t post here. does this work?
All told, five Disney films (ep 7, 8, 9, Solo, Rogue One) earned more than $1.884 Billion in pure box office profits.
So for their $4 Billion investment, Disney’s investment in the films have not returned even half of what they paid for.
I do not know if merchandise NET profits would be $2.116 Billion, so they got their money back for their investment.
Even if the movies lost money, they’re obviously going to try to squeeze out everything they can to make the losses as small as possible. Example, losing 500 000 is still better than losing 1 million. Simple stuff. For a company as big as Disney, losing millions isn’t a problem but for smaller companies it can be a matter of life or death, so to speak.
For the love of…IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY WAS MADE, THEY’RE DONE WITH IT.
Disney is no longer in a position to throw money away.
The theme parks were able to make up the difference, but with them closed, they no longer have the cash to make money losing films/productions.
Disney lost $4.7 billion in third quarter in 2020.
So to say they should still make losing films makes no financial/business sense.
That is why Hasbro announced that their new toy line will have also no sequel trilogy products – they don’t sell.
It’s like some of you don’t even read.
“So to say they should still make losing films makes no financial/business sense.”
No one is saying this.
Hell, not even Doomcock is saying this.
losing 500 000 is still better than losing 1 million.
That was said. I think losing is still losing. And to continue making that which is financially wrong to your bottom line still applies!
So please do as you preach and READ before you make judgement on anyone.

Also, that wasn’t what I was referring to…but carry on.
I heard that Jon Favreau said in an interview that The Mandalorian show is going to explain the rise of the First Order and lead to the Sequel Trilogy.
The more The Mandalorian stays away from the Sequel Trilogy the better.
But it wont stay from it. Its the set up for the rat films.
Hense all roads still lead to green titty milk. All roads lead to Jake Soiwanker.
Lindelof and Cuse said the peeps on Lost weren’t taking certain directions, then in final season they came up with a way to have their cake and eat it too. Until the Ahsoka show premieres I don’t care what Favreau says, and what he said doesn’t necessarily mean the road Mando’s on, or at least Luke, Ben, and Grogu won’t be altered. It’s way too early to reveal a surprise like that. The First Order will be a concrete plot point regardless.
And I’m completely fine with that. The goal is to stop them from destroying everything in TFA and to prevent Snoke thus saving Luke from falling and the corruption of Ben Solo. Rey existence will be left unexplored because nobody knows when her father was born/cloned. Riddly isn’t coming back and her merch doesn’t sell. But yeah, a retcon story arc will have to acknowledge the sequel trilogy in order to retcon them just like Days of Futures Past and The Wolverine acknowledged X3 The Last Stand.
