I think what we’re in now is, because of the general hemorrhaging of money from previous lack of interest in non-virtual Star Wars goods and overall Corona pains, a sort of ‘test period’ for whether or not they will attempt any and what sort of course correction at all. Unlike most normal companies, Behemoth Disney can afford to wait with stuff, and they need to see whether or not ‘giving fans what they want’ actually saves their pockets or not ; even if it does, they may not actually turn towards the option for doing that.
Did Filoni, for better or worse (I don’t dislike him but some of the tropes and stuff he did in his writing generally irks me as far as writing stories go) open up a possibility to put a ton of media into a continuity different from the Sequels? Yes.
Are there other ways one could in-universe decide a separate timeline from the space milk trilogy should exist, and be followed? Yes.
Is Disney considering using this possiblity? Maybe.
Do I think this possibility will be used? I’m strongly leaning towards no.
And let us not forget : What’s used AGAINST Disney Star Wars can be used FOR Disney Star Wars too. If the World between Worlds can be used to hop away from Disney Trilogy, it can also be used to further negate the achievements of characters from old Star Wars that we’ve come to love as well.
I say if Lucasfilm and Disney want my money……..MULTIVERSE THE S*&T OUT OF STAR WARS….THEN THEY’LL GET MY MONEY!!!!!!
I want Sam Witwer back as Star Killer in Star Wars canon and no more Iden Versio along with her wahman non sense.
