The 5th of November – 2024

Somewhat ironically the election this year is on the 5th of November.

I say somewhat because yes it aligns with the Gunpowder Treason and Plot.  You know it.

“Remember, remember!

the 5th of November”

That moment in history (as I understand it) was about Guy Fawkes and company fighting for religious freedom to practice Catholicism as England was enforcing the Church of England through law.  And in this story the rebels lost to the monarchy.

But for fun, I rewrote some of that poem for 2024

Remember, remember
The fifth of November,
The establishment’s final act,
I know of no reason
Why during voting season,
“The People” should ever elect a hack,
Who schemes to enslave and make you a naive
while stabbing you in the back
