      The best Playstation Game System?

      #171024

I’m going to have to say PS2. I enjoyed the PS3, especially with the built in blu-ray player but the backwards compatibility of the PS2 was the primary selling point for me. I might be mistaken, but it was one of (if not the first) home console to have the backwards compatibility feature (that didn’t involve online downloads). I just pop my Playstation disc into the PS2 and it played without issue.

The original PS3 played PS2 and PS1 games. They got rid of it playing PS2 games at some point. Although you can download a couple from PSN or Mod it. PS3 is the easy winner for me. I’ve had my Slim for 8 years or so. Its still great. My PS4 is great too but you have to save movies to a USB to play them. Im not sure why they dont let you save media directly to it. Im going to mod mine at some point.

        The Nintendo/Playstation.

I still wonder if it would’ve been good.

And why Sega didn’t make the Sega64, they had first dibs.

          PS 2

We finally got 3d games with good graphics, the biggest flaw of the PS1. I don’t vote for PS3/PS4 just because there are so many annoying industry trends that really became prevalent on those systems. I have other reasons too. The PS3 had so many poor ports and third party games when compared to their Xbox 360 counterparts (Bayonetta comes to mind). Now, you could possibly blame this more on developers than the system itself, but it is what it is. It also had annoying copy protection on save files for a lot of games. As for the PS4, it’s software library really pales in comparison to its predecessors in my opinion. Some of its much lauded exclusives are also a bit overrated in my opinion. I do love the PSVR though, so that’s a nice new thing we got with PS4. Astrobot alone is amazing and sells this technology all by itself.

PS2 has GTA San Andreas which is to this day one of the most comprehensive and fun games out there. Hold out for the PS5 because it’ll be backwards compatible.

The Ps3 for me. Though I have the Slim, so it can’t play Ps2 games. I think the Ps1 era is my favorite era of PlayStation, so I can at least play those on it. The Ps3 also had some pretty great first party games. It had the best years of NCAA Football along with the Xbox 360, and it has some Ps1 classics that are very hard to find cheap, like Mega Man Legends 2 and The Misadventures of Tron Bonne. The Ps3 is the most versatile system out of the bunch so far in terms of compatibility, well depending on what Ps3 model you get.
