The contrast of humans working for one another or against

It occurred to me watching a video of a simple food challenge how good people can make others feel when they get behind them.  Clearly such highs are more extreme when people in this work really get behind one another, love on one another and help each other in the most dire of circumstances.

But you can compare that with how much misery humans can conjure against one another and do so not only with determined intention but actual glee.

I find that contrast interesting because it shows that we truly have free will and not only can we make our lives what we want of them but we can either help or harm others.  Essentially, we all have the power to make someone’s day or ruin it.  In the extremes we can lift up the lives or others or destroy them.

In my experience people should always be on their best behavior because you never know when you will influence someone in the positive or the negative.  In most cases you will never know, but our actions carry weight with others nonetheless and often those effects are long lasting.
