Bummer Maverick’s video didn’t embed. Has a Top Gun Danger Zone light show. Pretty sweet. That is something, the lights. I like night walks and it even makes it more special when only a select few have their lights up. You see the differentiation and it makes me wonder what motives people to put up their lights, like, if it’s a deliberate tradition that they adhere to.
I did not know the background of this song.
“Go Tell It on the Mountain” is an African-American spiritual song which was likely derived from the oral tradition, but was originally published by John Wesley Work Jr., although there is some debate whether he was actually the first to write it.
Work grew up in Nashville where he garnered a love for music from his father who was a choir director. He earned his Master’s in Latin and went on to teach ancient Latin and Greek. However, his first love continued to be music, and he became the first African-American collector of Negro spirituals. Most African-American spirituals originated in oral tradition, but Work, through his extensive research, was able to compile many songs into the “New Jubilee Songs”. It was not until the second version he published that “Go Tell it On the Mountain” was included.
Wanted to post the Aaron Shust version, but there is an intro in a bunch of different languages and the build goes on for too long.
Perusing all the songs and videos, I am starting to like choirs and big bands more. More humans. Modern music is starting to escape me. It’s all autotune and loops and I can’t stand it. Went to a place yesterday and wanted to ask the staff if this is really what they listen to these days.
And look what the cheeky algo sent me. A super talented guy. This has happened to me in life when some Metalhead or guy with ink helped me out when I needed it in various ways. You never know who is going to step up. This is one reason why conservatives need to be wary of judging people. My experience with those biker types is that they have valor and bravery and courage.
O Holy Night is my favorite Christmas Carol. I’ve heard many renditions over the years and prefer traditional ones but this moved me to tears.
Honestly don’t recall if I ever saw this one. May have heard the recording. Bends my ear like crazy because Albert Finney sounds like I imagine Fagin from Oliver Twist, who, at the time, when I was a little kid, was the scariest character.
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. – Isaiah 7:14
Didn’t know a Rumble video would embed and play like that.
Sweet site. Heard they are gonna move from Brazil, who is trying to censor them.
Freedom must be taken, it’s Earned, Never Given.
Merry Christmas Everyone, hope you all have an enjoyable and blessed day!
Oh man, that Nat King Cole song is one of my Christmas favorites. That man’s voice was gifted to him by God.
Here are a few of my other favorites.
Merry Christmas everyone. Please have a great day today and please be sure to thank the Lord above for what you do have.
Merry Christmas everyone!
