They play some real swingin’ stuff downtown. Pisses me off that I wasn’t raised in a ballroom. Want to know all the steps to swing and cha cha and stuff like that. That bounce and swing just gets to me, like salsa does.
This guy has been doing some really good covers of various songs. Here’s his take on ‘Last Christmas’ by Wham. There’s other very similar medieval-cover artists out there that are also really good too.
The blues influence. I have an uncle who wanted to be a blues player so badly. He put out an album, too. Said he preferred them because they were natural players as opposed to more formally instructed players like, say, a Stevie Ray Vaughan. Music is a trippy thing because some of the commercially successful are guys that played by ear or were self taught. One of those was Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac.
I’ve always liked the idea of making a gingerbread house (I love anything ginger flavoured LOL!) but they always seem to be filled with sweets that I don’t like which is why I’ve never made one. Even here we have them.
Johnny Cash train set commercial. There are a few different versions.
@DragonLady – There’s also the question of whether or not nibbling/eating should be allowed. I’d be distressed after putting in all the time and effort to make something that good.
@comicsgate – I’ve received two train sets throughout my life but nothing as sophisticated as a Lionel or a Tyco. The first one was my favorite – it ran on 1 AA battery and both it and the track were made of a cheap black plastic. The track broke as we were taking it apart but that thing provided hours of fun while it lasted.
Jim Reeves, the man with the Golden Voice…
Can’t speak to its veracity but I appreciate the sentiment:
Give me a waltz or a march, and that’s all I need or ask.
Chris Tomlin. A legendary worship leader. Guess at one time, in the mid 2000s, he was the most played artist in the world and you would never know it because of the genre.
Don’t think I’ve ever posted this next song before? One of those songs that is so good, that I don’t listen to it often. Not sure if people are like that, but sometimes, things are almost too good that you want to appreciate them more, so you kind of don’t play them out.
Some local parades.
That song by Daddy Weave is very moving.
Anyone still uses glass baubles? They definitely looked better than the majority of plastic ones we have nowadays.
And it wasn’t truly “Christmas” until one of them got broken.
