Another outstanding console by Nintendo. Some of my favourite titles on the system were Double dash, Smash brother melee, Metroid prime, F Zero GX, Luigi’s mansion and various Star wars titles.
What were the titles you enjoyed?
Gamecube had many great games, Eternal Darkness, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2&3, Luigi’s Mansion, Baten Kaitos 1&2, F-Zero GX, Killer 7, Wind Waker, Metroid Prime 1&2, bunch of Resident Evil games and Tales of Symphonia are some of my favorites.
I still have my GC plus all these games and more.
Wind Waker how could I forget this amazing game.
I too also still have my cube.
The GameCube is so unbelievably under appreciated!
Mario Kart : Double Dash is the GOAT of MK games (and that’s high praise)
Super Mario Sunshine is very underrated
Resident Evil 4 was such a gamechanger for the franchise
Wave Race Blue Storm doesn’t get mentioned much but it’s a sequel to the very popular Wave Race 64
All the Mario Party games
Of course Metroid Prime!
So many more games I could say – bottom line : the GameCube was and still is amazing!
I never owned the GC but my friend did. As Jeremy said, GC is underrated but has great titles. Unfortunately I never got to play Double dash. I’ve played all but DD. :(
Wave race series is awesome. Jeremy, did you also like their 1080 snowboarding series too?
For me it was.
Resident Evil 0
Resident Evil 1
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3
Resident Evil Code Veronica
Resident Evil 4
Hitman 2
Eternal Darkness (I want it to come back)
Metal Gear Twin Snakes
Star Wars Rogue Squadron
Star Wars Rogue Leader
The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker (I loved traveling the Sea but it was a little kiddy) & Ocarina of Time port
Robotech Battlecry.
The GameCube (or the Purple Box of Power as I came to call it) was an underrated gem with such a novel, classic library of games that you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. I spent countless hours on it. I’m glad it’s getting a newfound appreciation, even among younger gamers or who those initially missed out at the time.
The Gamecube is my favorite console of all time. The following are all probably in my top 25 games ever: Super Smash Bros. Melee, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Zelda: Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, Resident Evil 4, Tales of Symphonia, and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. Several others like the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron games, F-Zero GX, Paper Mario: TTYD, Star Fox: Assault, and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance also rank very high.
The Gamecube is my favorite era of Nintendo. Super Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, F-Zero GX, Pikmin 1 & 2, Super Smash Bros Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, etc. Also has the best controller ever made.
Still using Gamecube controllers to this day on my Switch.
I remember getting my GameCube from Circuit City. I absolutely loved it. I still have it but it’s not hooked up, as I use my Wii to play my GC games. I only wish that a Pilotwings game had been released for the GameCube. Pilotwings and F-Zero were the first games I got on the SNES (after Super Mario World) and F-Zero 64 and Pilotwings 64 were the first ones I grabbed when the N64 was released (again, after Mario 64)
Mario Party 6 on the Cube is the best one in the series! the Day/Night system and orbs were really innovative without changing too much of the gameplay. I think it was kind of overlooked, but now people are warming up to it, much like they did with Double Dash.
This might sound odd, but I like to just run around in my GameCube games. Sometimes I’ll just explore Delfino Plaza in Mario Sunshine, or meander around Luigi’s Mansion exploring each room. I’ll walk around in Prime enjoying the music and atmosphere. Sometimes I’ll go sailing in Wind Waker or have fun in Windfall. ^_^
Luigi’s Mansion and Mario Sunshine are two games that I rented from Blockbuster but never owned. Now it’s like pulling teeth trying to find a copy of either one that isn’t the cost of a brand new game.
