I never played much gamecube, one of my brothers had one. But I am now going to put that right and have bought a GC controller and Memory card for my Wii, and have kicked off with a bit of Resident Evil Zero and Crazy Taxi, so I am looking down this thread and taking some notes, many thanks, and will now have another shelf to scan when I am next out retro shopping.
I always wanted to play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, but never had a GC and there aren’t any decent emulatorrs out there.
Guess you can look forward to the remaster then.
I’ve never own a Gamecube myself, but I have played it at friends houses and man oh man what a great little machine it is! My personal favorite game on the system is Soulcalibur 2 for introducing me to a fantastic series of fighting games as well as providing hours upon hours of fun competition between me and my friends.
I just started playing Mario Sunshine again. It is the perfect Summer game to play since the entire game is tropical, sunny, and fairly relaxed.
Do you guys think it will get a remaster? The rumors may have been true.
I am not opposed to a remaster but I would rather see a sequel as there are to many remasters these days.
That is very true. Besides, the Cube had a certain “look” to it. I find it hard to explain, but Sunshine, Luigi’s Mansion, Double Dash, and Wind Waker all had that look and charm. I think a remaster might lessen that a little. I think a sequel would be cooler. Like how Mario World had Yoshi’s Island. Sunshine could easily have another chapter to its story on maybe another island.
It was one of the most underrated classics on the Cube, which itself was underrated at the time. Glad that it gets some love and attention now. Both for the Cube and this nice spin on the Final Fantasy formula.
Yep, SNES and N64 carts became expensive and I knew it would eventually get to the Cube. Everyone playing it grew up and now they are nostalgic for these games. I am happy I kept all of my games now. I even have all of the Mario Party games and Mario sports games.
My wife has her original copy of Smash Bros on the N64. I think we have a Mario Party game, but I’m not quite sure. I have never given away any of my console games, if they are ones that I don’t like.
My favorite games for the Gamecube
Mario Sunshine
Zelda Wind Waker
Rogue Leader
Resident Evil 4
Metroid Prime
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
Sonic Adventure DX directors cut
Tales of Symphonia
Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door
Mario Kart Double Dash
Pikmin
Luigi’s Mansion
Smash Melee
F-Zero GX
Soul Caliber 2
Viewtiful Joe
Beyond Good and Evil
Never had the chance to buy one. My brother used to love it. About ready to go full retro. Are these things still around?
Yeah they are still out there in the wild and evil bay. I would recommend getting one I don’t think you would be disappointed and the Star wars titles are definitely worth a look but there are many amazing games on the console.
On the list then!!
The Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time Master Quest, The Zelda Collection (Zelda 1, 2, Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask), Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Resident Evil 4, Soul Calibur 2, and the Game Boy player. These are among my favorites for the console, and it’s why I still keep my GameCube and my Wii around. My GameCube collection needs some love though, it’s probably the lowest number of games in my collection right now.
