The Matrix and The Godfather are might be strong contenders… But I do love TLoTR as well. I re-watch it every 3 years lol

August 18, 2020 at 8:22 am #184488I’m pretty sure I have ADD and Asperger’s so I lose patience halfway through these movies. Same with the books. There is too much filler dialogue for me in TLOTR and that goes for The Godfather and The Matrix, Star Wars and Rocky as well. I can sit through 24 hours of a Star Trek marathon though. I guess I’ll never fully appreciate these and many other masterpieces due to my own limitations.
August 18, 2020 at 12:05 pm #184496It also comes from arguably the best book trilogy ever as well, which is set up nicely by The Hobbit with plenty of post-LOTRcontent too. I mean Tolkien went as far as to create his own languages for the series. Not discrediting Peter Jackson in any way, because what he did with the books was incredible. That being said, the material they were able to draw from is just impeccable. This is by far my favorite trilogy of movies as well.
August 18, 2020 at 1:43 pm #184519Idk, the original Star Wars trilogy is up there for me. LotR definitely has a more detailed world to draw upon though. Tolkien was a master with languages. If I had to pick one, I wouldn’t argue against LotR, even though Hollywood did their best to shoehorn at least part of their usual agenda with the movies.
