Hi other Star Wars Fans. The reason why do really dislike Star Wars The Last Jedi? My reasons. Why I really dislike Star Wars The Last Jedi. The way they destroyed Luke Skywalker. Luke Skywalker is milking some alien. Wasting the Find character. Very bad storytelling with a lot Star Wars character. Very bad plot holes.
Can you help tell the reason why you really dislike Star Wars The Last Jedi.
There was a lot of cringe, especially in the Rose scenes and they killed off Admiral Akbar off screen.
I just think it was a poorly made film. Setting aside my dislike of what they did with Luke and my other gripes coming from the point of view of a Star Wars fan, speaking as a fan of films The Last Jedi feels like a final film school project completed by a sophomore student. Much of the film is slow paced, characters aren’t fleshed out or are inadequately used, and just poor choices with the in universe physics.
Slow Pace: The entire spaceship chase. It would have made much more sense if the Resistance ships made several short hyperspace jumps to get to the planet with the old rebel base. After all, each jump would require the First Order to track them and make their own jumps, buying the Resistance some time to get to the base before the First Order and get all set up. Saving the lives of hundreds of Resistance fighters. Then we could have had a build up to the battle like we did with Hoth.
Characters: Holdo was made out to be a bitch and then she dies. She could have been used in the final movie. Rose would have been better off being the tech they needed and then her and Finn could have tried to sabotage the tracker to allow the Resistance to escape. Phasma was marketed primarily for the gender of the character and we all were led to believe that she would have had a bigger role than she did.
Universe Physics: Besides the hyperspace jump that Holdo uses to take out the Star Destroyer, the use of the bombers was a bad choice. We have Y Wings, the primary bombers for the rebel alliance so why wouldn’t they have upgraded versions by the time the Resistance is formed? It makes no sense to have a bomber that large and move that slow, especially in space.
This is just a small fraction of the issues that I have with that movie but they are also some of the reasons why I agree with the film professor that uses the film to show how NOT to do a movie script.
Canonically destroying Luke and space (both hyperspace ramming and flying Leia) are unforgivable for me. And Canto Bight was just the worst.
They just crapped all over Luke. They killed Akbar of screen. The utterly pointless casino and purple hair lady stories. How is Phasma still alive? Rose is really a first order spy.
Gravity bombs in space.
Paper thin bombers that flew slower than real world bombers when the Y-wing, B-wing, K-wing… exist.
yo mamma jokes.
General whatshisass turned into a running gag reel.
Hearing a ship leaving hyperspace from a planetary location… WTF!? Does ruin not comprehend how in universe physics works? Ships dont make noise entering / leaving hyperspace.
Jake Starkiller.
Leia Poppins.
Ackbar dying off screen.
MaryfuckingSue.
Admiral Genderstudies.
Crylo Ben. Seriously that motherfucker is named Jacen / Caidus. Ben is Luke & Mara’s son.
Stealing plotlines from Empire and Jedi and making them worse.
Basically the list is likely longer than the film cause there was shit in each and ever frame of the film that didnt being in universe. I cant think of a single thing I saw on screen that was correct for a Star Wars film.
A whole bunch of reasons for sure, here we go;
* The movie starts off by doing MAMA jokes in space.
* The MAMA jokes also start General Hux’s descent in to becoming a blabbering comedic relief by the end of the movie.
* Nonsensical bombers in space with nonsensical bombs.
* Extremely slow and boring “chase” in space with the First Order waiting for the rebel ships to run out of fuel ?!?!? What the actual fuck ?!?!???? So hyperspacetravel and multiple other ultra high tech stuff exists in this superadvanced universe, but they do not have fusion/fission or better energysources for their spacecraft ? What does the rebel ship engines use for fuel….. diesel ?!? Was fuel ever an issue for anyone in the OT ?
* The completely disgraceful scene where Jake Skywalker tosses the lightsaber over his shoulder.
* Every single decision made with regards to Jake Skywalkers character.
* Remember that awesome and mysterious villain called Snoke, and the fans were speculating where he might come from and who he might be? Well fuck him he just dies in a stupid way.
* Remember how Reys parents were hinted at beeing someone mysterious and possibly significant for things going to happen, and finding them might explain how Rey got so adept with the force? Well fuck them they are nobodys, just forget about them.
* Remember the knights of Ren, they were Kylos crew and they were supposedly powerful and dangerous, a real obstacle to overcome for our heroes ? Well fuck them, they aren’t even gonna be mentioned in this movie.
* Remember the awesome captain Phasma, how it was hinted she was a big deal, even played by famous GoT actress Gwendoline Christie ? Well fuck her, she dies offscreen after a 10 second fight with Finn.
* Remember how it was hinted Finn might be force sensitive, and also that there was romance going on between him and Rey? He is now a bumbling moron with zero relevance.
* Which brings us to Finn and Roses long ass completely pointless mission to Canto Bight which is essentially a rant/preach about bloody obvious things such as gambling bad, weaponstrade bad, animal abuse bad, slavery bad. In the end it has zero impact on the heroes, the plot or anything else for that matter.
* Canto Bight does give us broom-boy though, and with him the theory that absolutely everyone can use the force if they want to, no training or abilities needed.
* The disrespect to Admiral Ackbar and his offscreen death.
* The completely moronic “Leia Poppins scene” where she is blasted into space by a missile hitting the bridge on her ship, she survives the explosion, she survives being unconsciously sucked into space, she survives the vacuum of space and the freezing temperature. She wakes up, force-flies back to her ship and almost immediately falls into a coma.
* This is where the completely pointless Admiral Holdo appears, as perhaps the highest ranking resistance officer apart from Leia she is wearing her evening gown and has purple hair ofcourse.
* Admiral Holdo later sacrifice herself (nobody cares, but the scene itself was awesome I admit). This weaponizes lightspeed, a real shame nobody thought of using ships at lightspeed to destroy both the deathstars earlier, the deathplanet in TFA or even when destroying that dreadnought at the start of the movie. It would have saved countless lives, but nooooo, Holdo invented it after lightspeed tech beeing available for centuries. Also did she really have to sacrifice herself, was there no autopilot on the ship?
* The stupid disgusting green seacowmilk scene.
* The completely out of the blue romance happening between Finn and Rose.
* When you realise the fact that TLJ is just The Empire Strikes Back with the scenes/characters/locations randomly mixed up and changed a little to make it look different. The whole movie is a case of the “Could I copy your homework” meme.
I think I will end it here, there is probably much more but I get frustrated and exhausted by having to rewatch this movie in my head.
Fuck Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy, and may this garbagetier Disney trilogy be erased from history.
It was a nihilistic deconstruction of Star Wars without really providing a fresh perspective. It undid the very spirit of Star Wars but offered nothing in its place. I think Rian Johnson had total contempt for everything that came before and took total delight in exposing how “pointless” all struggles were up until now and lecturing us on his own belief system.
But it was also just a bad film – Forty minutes of actual story with almost two hours of padding that didn’t amount to anything, and any plot points from the Force Awakens were resolved by the end, leaving JJ nothing to work with for the Rise of Skywalker (so of course that film turned out the way it did).
Having two directors with different visions resulted in a mess of a story, who knew. I’m not saying JJ would’ve made an amazing trilogy, but it would’ve at least been consistent, even if rather mediocre.
Luke Skywalker ruined.
I don’t like the Last Jedi because it makes me feel uncomfortable and that crap made me not watch the whole damn thing and the rise of Skywalker.
The movie was just leftist garbage. It is flat out a propaganda movie. Only complete fools cannot see this. It wasn’t made to entertain. It was made to indoctrinate the youth.
Because it’s a sjws deep shite
Weren’t the slave white male child?
