Threads, don’t underestimate it

Heard about Threads yet?  If not you will be hearing about nothing but for some time.

It’s a Twitter type app created by Meta (Facebook) released on 7/5/23.  Now many Twitter clones have come and gone.  None of them ever caught on. But this one is different because the establishment will be pushing it with everything they have and of course meta will be putting a lot of funding behind it.

Right now if you look at any mainstream “news” it is awash with articles/stories about Threads and how it will defeat Twitter. This will continue for some time and the propaganda will be non-stop.

When Twitter was sold to Elon Mush the establishment/uni-party/federal goverment lost their absolute most effective propaganda weapon.  Jack Dorsey Twitter could essentially control the market place of ideas.  Anything they did not like was banned/shadow banned or deranked.  The ideas they wanted to endorse were forced to the top where, allowed to operate with impunity and made to look popular through the use of large scale bot networks.

Going into election time they are trying to recreate Twitter within Meta to get that power back.  I am pretty certain the push for Threads will be second only to the push for the COVID vaccine.

The bot network thing is far worse than most realize to the point where when you explain it, it sounds ludicrous in scale,  But once you realize what it was/is doing where any post/idea/thread can feign popularity you begin to understand their power.

Whenever I hear the name Threads, I think of the 1984 British film Threads about what happens to the world after World War III happens. That is one of the reasons why I will not make a Threads account because I will always think of the terrifying movie.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgT4Y30DkaA

Threads is going to be something different.  Why?

While a number of big social media sites have become heavily censored hard leftist echo chambers, they did not start that way as they evolved into that after some years of being somewhat open and free.

Threads is going to be a heavily censored hard leftist echo chamber from the get go because that is what it is designed to be.  Meta is not trying to rival Twitter to make billions.  They are trying to remake Twitter so the hard left can get it’s propaganda machine back.  This was attempted a few times previously but for different reasons every attempt was met with failure.  This time could be different because of the technical force behind it and the funding being put into it.  Another reason it might have some chance is because it’s not starting with zero data.  I am pretty sure they are just building off of some dataset they pulled in from Instagram as the 2 are already linked.

So in the coming months you will see non-stop propaganda basically saying over and over again “Threads good, Space Man Bad”, “Twitter is for hate speech/racists/nazis)”.  You will see personal attacks on Musk and Twitter from the media.  I also suspect there will be federal investigations as well into Musk and or Twitter and both of those things have already been hinted at previously.   During that time Threads will be everywhere and I am sure many a woke company will put their advertising dollars into threads.  I also predict you will see Federal agencies announce leaving Twitter and officially being on Threads.
