Thanks for making the post. :)
I liked the first Bay film, especially the Desert Battle sequence with Scorponok.
But IMO they dropped the ball with the Transformers’ designs, especially Megatron’s. And while I like Hugo Weaving, he’s no Frank Welker. I think I read somewhere they didn’t bring him on board because his voice had changed too much compared to the G1 series. Thing is there was a pretty good series called Transformers: Prime circa 2010 and he sounded perfectly fine — probably a little raspier— so I’m not sure what they were on about.
Transformers Prime was a very solid show and had some great moments that I still watch from time to time.
What is ironic is, when they made the Transformers game for the first movie, Frank Welker was brought in to do the voice for Megatron. It was the first time since the original series that Frank and Peter worked together as Optimus and Megatron. Frank was then brought in as Megatron for the games that followed, except for the Cybertron series. When you play Transformers Devastation as hear Frank’s voice with the G1 Megatron design, you almost wouldn’t think it was 30 years later. If anything, Peter Cullen’s Optimus for the movies and new games sound much more different than the G1 version (G1 sounds much more younger and more energetic).
Yea just like how James Earl Jones’s voice for Darth Vader has changed since the Original Trilogy.
Understandable :)
The CGI of the movies (for the most part) hold up very well.
I miss the days when Peter Cullen used to narrate the promos for Toonami
This is all that matters:
Welker is a VA god.
I will corrupt this thread with dark energon and bend it to my will.
Thank you Megatron very cool
Iconic scene
Indeed
I’m really hoping for a Optimus Prime Movie.
