I heard about this recently. I am not entirely up to date on all the events but overall I know this.
There is a lot of car production in Mexico. I feel somewhat certain (but am not at all an authority) that Detroit and other cities that lived off car plants are not ghost towns when that production went else ware. I think this began with NAFTA.
So striking hard will only drive more production else ware as it keeps prices down. Unions should be working to bring manufacturing back to the USA not driving it further away.
