Has anyone else watched the reboot of Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix? It’s not bad, though it does feel more like the modern documentary type shows than it does the original. They changed the format from having a narrator talk about 4 or 5 different stories, the new show spends almost an hour on one case. I honestly like it because it allows more information on the case to be given. I do miss having a narrator though, but no one could replicate Robert Stack. Speaking of which, at the end of the opening credits, they have a silhouette of Robert Stack behind the title card, which is a nice homage to him.
I think going with the no narrator was a good choice since you can’t really top Robert Stack. I only watched the first episode but I liked the update to the theme song. The original show creeped me out as a kid and I still get an unsettling feeling watching this new one.
I just recently started watching the new series finished the first 3 episodes and so far I’m enjoying it. I like the new opening and I’m glad they kept the original music. I will agree with what KiethBlackLion said it’s nice they do show a silhouette of Robert Stack at the end of the opening credits.
Watched two episodes, immediately started with the UFO one. It’s ok, but without the theme it’s pretty much any other modern day mystery series, and sadly doesn’t pack the same punch as some of the better alien encounter shows that have come over the years. Will definitely finish it up though.
Just finished the first 3 episodes. The one about Rey Rivera was really interesting and mysterious.
