Vocal ANALYSIS of Dan Vasc’s Heavy Metal “Amazing Grace” cover!

Over a cup of tea, my great aunt said “I never thought I’d like heavy metal music, but there’s this singer Dan Vasc you should check out that sings Amazing Grace!” Well, sure enough, this has been on our list for a few months, and Dan Vasc even longer. So who better to take advice from than someone not even remotely interested in this genre?! That’s an endorsement to me!

Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Dan Vasc for the first time, performing “Amazing Grace”.

Thanks for posting. One thing youtube is really good for is carrying the torch of the cultural flame in terms of having real vocalists and real music. I’d like to see Opera make a comeback among the youth and metal embraces those singers. Another opera singer on youtube is Maggie Reneé, and maybe someone should send her a request for some Dan Vasc.

I kind of wish Vasc would turn out more comedic metal like “All Hail Friday Night Tights.” That was a lot of fun. Maybe write a song about Toxic Masculinity.

Are there any other historic songs for Dan to cover? I’m thinking something truly victorious and conquering. That’s what I love about Power Metal. Maybe like St. Elmo’s Fire?

You know who needs to write power metal songs for Dan Vasc? That’s right, Stan Bush!

Amazing Grace is in itself a beautiful song as it very plainly describes the human condition with and without God.

Dan Vasc did the song justice.  And realize that I am saying.  The song itself speaks of things that are very deeply intertwined with human existence and he brought out every part of that. A beautiful rendition.

I am not an opera fan but I 100% respect the art and would love to see it flourish.  My best friend in the world for like the last 25 years has a brother who is an opera singer.  He sang in front of me once and I was floored.   If you can perform that art you are amazing and talented.

Hard Rock is ironically like opera at this point.  It is not possible to churn it out of an auto-tuning machine so only folks whom are super talented rise to the top.  This is a very valuable thing as the music industry cares nothing about talent it just cranks music out of machine (hiphop, pop, rock, country etc..).   In today’s world Johnny Cash, one of the most accomplished storytellers via song of all time,  would have never been heard.

Music is like the news now.  The mainstream is computer generated garbage.  Seek out those whom are genuine and talented.

Watching other music and came across this one. Really pretty music. I missed out on a lot. I know of the band Kamelot but never really listened to them close. Every time I heard them though, I was impressed.
