I canceled in solidarity with Gina but her getting another gig means she isn’t coming back and that there is no way for Disney to undo the damage like I think they were trying to do with Mandalorian with reuniting the fandom. I still have time on my account and I like Wanda Vision and I was really looking forward to The Bad Batch. I want somthing good to come out of the #CancelDisneyPlus campain because I think its awful how the compony keeps pandering to SJWs while ignoring people who are actually interested in there shows. What sort of gesture should I wait for before I go back? Kennedy leaving, Gina coming back years from now?  In the meantime I’m trying to find other space franchises. I watched Chronicles of Riddick last night. It was pretty good.

I vowed to never give Disney any money again after they debased Luke Skywalker, but I was watching Disneys stuff via other means.. but after recent events with The Chinese concentration camps, The hiring & their defense of an actual racist & finally the firing of Gina, made me realize Star Wars is truly dead.

Disney stands for everything the original trilogy & Luke stood against. So I don’t think I can even jacksparrow their stuff at this point as whenever I see the Disney logo, it turns my stomach.

As you suggest we need to replace it with something else. Riddick was pretty good, I’ve been rewatching old Star Trek collections on DVD, forgot how good TNG was. I’ve also been thinking of getting into Gundam as I’ve heard it’s excellent but I just don’t know where to start. Perhaps Geeks & Gamers could have a section for recommended Comics, Books, Films & TV with beginners guides of where to start from each of the Geeks & Gamers Team? just an idea.

I’m done with Disney.  I’m also not a Netflix user since the Cuties movie.  I have Roku and Amazon Prime.  I’m watching old original Star Trek at the moment.   I’m also watching the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy BBC show on Prime.   Then I’m going to watch Dukes of Hazzard.   So many old shows that are new to me on Amazon Prime.   Find some old shows you’re interested in and enjoy!!

      Okay.

      So.

I have what I call the cold turkey gene. I can give things up on the turn of a dime and never go back. Now, I don’t expect anyone else do be like that, but as you are struggling with your dilemma, ask yourself questions: When all was said and done, as you see it now, were you ever really going to go back and watch this dreck again? Was it really something that you felt was going to be a cornerstone of your entertainment pantheon? Or was it something that was basically popcorn for the moment.

If it was popcorn for the moment, then come to that realization and that may make it easier to walk away from. Especially when it comes to WandaVision and the future of the MCU. Are you really that invested in the MCU going forward? Do you really care? If you don’t, then outside of it being popcorn, how important can WandaVision really be for you?

As for Bad Batch? Well, by now everyone here knows my stance on anything Filoni touches….I consider it garbage. All Bad Batch represents is more member berries for people who liked TCW with more back tracking story telling of events that in the end don’t mean anything in the grander scheme of the greater Star Wars story. How fun can that really be? You want story progressing Star Wars? Again, we all know my answer…the EU is calling to you.

      Answer that call.

Now…as for a solution to your watching needs. You want good space tv?

I offer you Farscape and Stargate SG1.

I’m doing my annual Farscape rewatch right now. Just started Season 2 today, and I am as much in love as I always am.

In fact, I’m considering making some Farscape videos just for the hell of it, even if the algorithm won’t like it.

Point is, Farscape is 4 seasons of some of the best sci-fi you will ever watch and SG1 is 10 seasons.

I was just looking forward to some clone squad action and going back to Kamino. I agree with you on Wanda vision, Dr. Strange is the only interesting thing I’m looking forward to.  And the best Star Wars stuff out of Disney comes from Filoni. It sucks the KK faction put ideology over money and the overall health of the fandom. Disney needs to know that we aren’t battered wives that are going to keep coming back for more abuse.

I have Disney+ because I love the MCU, but if you wanna see some stuff and support them as little as possible then maybe wait for the show to be over and binge them and cancel the subscription immediately? So you only are subscribed for one month instead of like 4-5 months.

      @ImFromMoston
I recommend Gundam, I find it better than Star Wars. There are guides on the internet in which order to watch but I’d recommend:

      Gundam: The Origin (prequel)

      Gundam (the OG)

Gundam Z (sequel about 8 years later)

Gundam: Char’s Counter Attack (sequel movie, about 4 years after Z)

Gundam Unicorn (sequel, about 5 years after CCA)

those are all the ”main universe” called UC content, there is lots of extended content between but those are the most imoportant.

There is also other franchises which are set in another universe so is not connected to the previous mentioned, for example:

Gundam Wing, Gundam 00, Gundam Seed and it’s sequel Seed Destiny, Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans.

I never got D+, nor will I ever. I wont give them my money. Period. I watched The Mandalorian through “other means”.

Disney imo is Buy N’ Large. I wont got to Disney Land or Disney World either. Ever. It’s all a rip off in the first place. I have NEVER been, and I don’t care to ever go.  I wont support these identity politics one sided gestapo corporations with my wallet.

I canceled my Disney+, not planning to renew.
As for the future, who knows.

You do you, make the choices that make sense to you right now. Don’t worry about how you will feel in the future.
