When I was like 11 and saw the original Star Wars at the theater. Don’t really have the time right now to tell you how much it meant to me and how it changed things forever. Maybe someday I’ll write some detailed post about that.

WOW. Can’t imagine seeing Star Wars at 2. No wonder Vader terrified you. I’m curious…do you actually remember this or was it something your parents told you?

When I was a kid, my grandma actually had the toys in a playroom for her grandkids, so me and my cousins had all the alien characters. There was also a casette with a lot of the scenes on audio and you should have heard it for the timing of the lines and the sound effects. I remember one of my cousins would act it out and like, fall when Luke fell. That alone was enough fun to make me a fan. It’s a good memory. Totally innocent fun for kids.

@Blood.Ranger  You truly missed out on something unique.

Going to the theater to buy tickets to see The Empire Strikes Back.  You get there for 5 o’clock and see two lines.  One for those those got their tickets for the 6 o’clock showing, and the second line for those wanting to get tickets for the 7 o’clock screening.

No advanced ticket or online ticket purchasing in those days.

So when you see those Homer Simpson clip where he comes out of the theater and spoils the film for those standing in line to go in and see it.  That WAS real!
