Who is your favorite Attack on Titan character?

Number one fav definitely Levi, close seconds are Eren and Sasha

I feel like Levi and Mikasa are massively overrated. I do like them, but I feel like they rely way too much on just being cool and strong, with very few character flaws

Fair enough if they’re not your favs, no character can be everyone’s favorite, but i wouldn’t say they have few flaws, let alone rely on being cool, sure they’re both very skilled in battle, but their every day lives are filled with turmoil beyond war

Probably Levi, though I also like Armin and Connie as well.

After finishing AoT, my favorite is still Erwin.

I love flawed characters (not in terms of ability necessarily, but in terms of character personality and morale).

For the majority of the show Erwin is portrayed as the heroic, stoic, calculating and dependable commander of the military who would sacrifice anything for humanity, only for it to be revealed that his motivation isn’t even actually the survival of mankind and defeating the titans, it is the selfish goal of proving his dad’s theory correct and know what his dad was killed for, and Erwin would do anything for that. His goal just happens to align perfectly with the rest, with the goal of reaching the basement, so his determination to reach his goal is under the disguise of doing it for humanity, and when things go south just at the doorstep of the basement he even considers abandoning the mission and letting his team get killed while he gets to go to the basement and confirm it himself.

But after having ordered hundreds of soldiers to sacrifice themselves for humanity with his lies, when he really wanted them to sacrifice themselves for his own goal, the guilt of it weighs too much on him and at the end he decides to atone for his sins by doing what he has ordered everyone to do, and he rushes in a suicide charge to let the remaining soldiers get to the basement and learn the truth, accepting to die literally a few steps from finally reaching his dream in the basement, and dying never getting the answer but giving humanity a chance to survive.

My favorite shot in the entire show is Erwin standing on a mountain of corpses who died following his command to ”sacrifice themselves for humanity”, realizing what he has done…. moments before deciding to give himself the very same command: sacrifice yourself for humanity

The man who always looked calm, collected and determined gave his final order with fear on his face and with his voice cracking as he knows he will die never knowing the truth.
