Woke YouTubers..

I think there are shades of “woke”.

The Angry Joe Show isn’t too “woke” for me; it can be entertaining, even interesting.   Joe does sometimes try to balance on the fence vs. taking sides, but then there are times he takes a stand.

I take it all with a grain of salt.

Personally, I don’t like blacklists; however, if someone says something specific about a specific channel, I’ll take note.

Well I haven’t been taking notes, but I have to respectfully disagree about “100%”.

For example, in this video here starting at 20:22, Joe pokes fun at Twitch for inconsistent application of rules (he says they are enforced more against men than women) and of the “Twitch Safety Council”, featuring their “transgenDEER” member, whom he called out for referring to white male gamers as “white supremacists”. He advocated removal of this “transgenDEER” (thinks itself to be a deer) from the council.

Sometimes he does tend to speak before he knows all the facts…but then, so does our President…every once in a while…. ;). He is fallible, most people are.

Regarding Twitter, I think you might be referring to his personal Twitter account under his real name. Although it is linked to his AJS contact info, I don’t mind people using their own personal Twitter accounts however they wish, including talking about political or social issues.

I don’t think his personal taste in Star Wars and Marvel movies necessarily define him as “woke”, but I’m pretty sure he didn’t give a lot of them raving reviews. I’d have to go back and re-watch his old videos to confirm.

Joe does consistently berate the use of anti-consumer practices such as micro-transactions (while aknowledging that personal responsibility should prevail) and game developers who don’t deliver what they promise.

In his video titled “The Last of Us Part II Spoilers Discussion: Copyright Abuse! – Angry Rant!“, Joe said:

Sony is coming in and striking channels simply for discussing it.

He supported and named channels (like Mirta’s channel) which Sony was copyright-striking, and asked other people to support them too.

I googled “AOC” — too many matches.
I googled “TYT” — “The Young Turks”? I don’t know who/what that is.

I’ll be honest, I’m perfectly OK with other people doing their own thing, as long as they don’t try to tell me how to do mine.

AJS might lean left (although Joe does support the 2nd Amendment), but I’m not sure that’s the same as “woke”?

To me, “woke” is prejudice against heterosexual whites having biological (vs. contrived) genders, particularly males. I haven’t seen any evidence of this from AJS.

AJS is comprised of 100% white males, by the way.

OK, I stand corrected, thanks. So he’s Latino.
