Wilson Bethel will Return as Bullseye on Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil will have to keep up his reflexes because he’s once more being pitted against the assassin who can’t miss. ComicBook.com exclusively reports that Wilson Bethel, who played Bullseye on Netflix’s Daredevil, will reprise the role on Daredevil: Born Again, the upcoming Disney+ series that is more and more becoming the continuation of the Netflix show that it always should have been. He joins Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, who are back as Daredevil and the Kingpin, as well as the recently announced Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who return as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. And while it hasn’t officially been announced, Jon Bernthal is expected to appear as the Punisher. Bullseye first arrived during the show’s third season, although he went only by his real name, Benjamin Poindexter; on the series, he was an FBI sharpshooter recruited by the Kingpin to help him destroy Daredevil.

They really want people to trust them again, don’t they? After years of calling fans every name under the sun for criticizing their inane decisions, Marvel is finally listening to their audience. That this wasn’t always the plan for the next Daredevil chapter is so crazy it should necessitate medication and weekly psychological evaluations, but Kevin Feige and the other Marvel decision-makers are finally swallowing their pride and admitting to a mistake. As with the other course corrections, it would be wise to wait for the finished product before breathing a sigh of relief – gestures like this don’t negate two whole phases of mostly trash. But I want to believe it’ll work out because Daredevil on Netflix was fantastic, and I’d love to see more of it. In fact, as difficult as it was to sit through most of what Marvel has produced since Avengers: Endgame, it’ll have almost been worth it if the result is another great season of Daredevil. And, assuming (yeah, it’s a big assumption) that it works out for the best, I’m glad to see Bullseye back; Wilson Bethel was excellent in the role, and I enjoyed the tortured, dangerous version of him on the show, which made up for Colin Farrell’s awful performance in the 2003 Daredevil. His return was teased at the end of season 3, and I hope he gets his costume this time.
