Tales of the Empire Clip: “Stay Back”

Lucasfilm recently released a newer, shorter trailer for the upcoming animated Star Wars series Tales of the Empire titled “Stay Back.” They often do this leading up to Disney+-released Star Wars properties, putting out 30 to 60-second clips showing off action and snappy dialogue. This clip sees Morgan Elsbeth and her coven face General Grievous, presumably during the decimation of Fathomir. Check it out here: 

I have no doubt Tales of the Empire will be fantastic, little though these clips reveal. Tales of the Jedi ranged from good to downright thought-provoking, and we know less about the characters featured in this new show. The action looks good, but we’ve seen General Grievous fight before, and I’m not that interested in Morgan (yet). I’m more excited for Barriss Offee’s episodes since we’ve been waiting a decade for answers about her. I’m still looking forward to Morgan’s episodes, and frankly, I expect them to be more engaging than her live-action appearances. For whatever reason, Lucasfilm pours a lot more thought and effort into its animated projects than shows like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka, which should be their bread and butter.
